UNE has a smart region ‘hackathon’ which will focus on ‘Future Food & Fibre’ problems in the New England and North West regions
Returning for it’s third year, Agmentation is a two-day event that runs Friday (26th July) evening and all day Saturday (27th July) in Armidale. The activities involve the process of making agriculture including the cultivation of soil, for the growing of crops and rearing of animals, as productive as possible.
Held at the University of New England, the regional incubator is a physical working space designed and developed to offer support to regional startups. UNE researchers, industry stakeholders, university students and regional high school students to form teams, focus on a problem statement and pitch their ‘business solution’ for agriculture in a regional setting.This startup event, known as a ‘Hackathon’ provides participants with the opportunity to work on agricultural problems together alongside primary producers, technical engineers.
