Entrepreneurs Hour: Professor Veena Sahajwalla – Armidale

August 1 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us for Entrepreneurs Hour to hear Professor Veena Sahajwalla speak on

‘Waste as a Resource’

Professor Veena Sahajwalla is revolutionising recycling science to enable global industries to safely utilise toxic and complex wastes as low-cost alternatives to virgin raw materials and fossil fuels.

As Founding Director of UNSW’s Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology, and now Director of the NSW Circular Economy Innovation Network, Veena is an inspiring speaker and a world leader in waste! She has been a long-standing judge on ABC’s The New Inventors program and has featured on Catalyst, in The Australian, and many other national programs and publications.

Veena is a role model for all students interested in the opportunities that science, engineering and problems solving can bring to our communities.  She is a natural entrepreneur with a flair for sharing what is possible in creating startups and businesses to drive the change.

In this presentation, Veena will share her journey on the war on waste and how science and engineering are shaping a new look at waste.
