Think Global and Deploy Local
November 15 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Virgin Startup, is Richard Branson’s social enterprise to support entrepreneurs and was developed with the skilful guidance of Ian Mason, himself an entrepreneur and investor.
Ian will be in Armidale to meet with agtech founders and learn about the growth of agtech startups working with the UNE SMART Region Incubator (SRI). Ian is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs to grow business ideas. Ian is a great communicator of what it takes to develop a startup up and think global and deploy local. Ian will describe the types of startups being supported through Virgin startup and how you know if your idea has value in the marketplace.
Join us for an informal presentation and Q and A session with Ian, from 5.30pm for a 6pm kickoff at Charlies Last Stand (finishing by 7pm). Numbers strictly limited, so please book early.
Ian is now CEO of Rainbow Bridge Education, a company he founded to create accessible resources for parents across the world to use in the home learning environment. Ian was instrumental in the creation and growth of Virgin StartUp, Sir Richard Branson’s not-for-profit company for entrepreneurs, which has now supported over 11,000 entrepreneurs with over £35million. He is immensely passionate about supporting entrepreneurs, an endeavour which has seen him take up roles across the world, including Global Entrepreneur in Residence at Creative Enterprise Australia’s Collider Accelerator Programme and Visiting Entrepreneur at The Office of the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur. Prior to Virgin StartUp, Ian was Head of Policy and Public Affairs at London Chamber of Commerce, a role which saw him advising the UK Government on business policy in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis and gain credibility as an economic commentator.
