Illuminate:nextgen Challenge 2019
March 11 - March 15
Do you know Year 9 and 10 students who want to put their entrepreneurial ideas into practice? Would you like your students to have the chance to join the illuminate: nextgen Challenge for a curriculum mapped intensive program that allows secondary students to experience first-hand what it takes to be an entrepreneur right here in our region.
The New England North West region has been chosen by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand to be part of this highly acclaimed illuminate:nextgen Challenge, with their generous sponsorship it is a fully funded opportunity right here in our region.
On 11 March 2019 in Tamworth and Armidale your students will have the chance to work with Adam Mostogl of illuminate Education (Top 30 Under 30 Australian Entrepreneurs 2017, Tasmanian Young Australian of the Year 2015) and a team of facilitators. The UNE SMART Region Incubator and the UNE Business School is right behind this program as these are the skills that will grow our regional economy and Adam is an extraordinary entrepreneur himself, he is inspiring and energetic!
Students learn what it takes to start a new business in a week, going through the process of developing the idea, refining it, making sure it connects with customers and is viable – all the way up to pitching for investment to get it off the ground!
This program is aligned to the Australian Curriculum at each year level it is offered across multiple subject areas, it also builds skills needed to be active and engaged citizens and learn about real-world small business.
