Australian Government’s Soft Power Review
November 7 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
The University of New England
warmly invites you to participate in a roundtable discussion
The Government is leading a review of Australia’s soft power, a commitment of the 2017 Foreign Policy White Paper to ensure Australia continues to build soft power and exercise influence effectively.
Australia’s best soft power assets are outside of government and we want to make sure we draw on diverse Australian perspectives from a broad cross-section of the community, including those living, studying, working and investing in regional Australia who promote Australia’s soft power every day. We want to generate new ideas and thinking on Australia’s soft power assets and partnerships, as well as policy options for maximising Australia’s reputation and prosperity in future.
To ensure that the review is informed by the best possible advice, the Government partnering with the University of New England to convene a series of roundtable discussions with interested stakeholders in Armidale, NSW on Wednesday, 7 November 2018. Written public submissions are also welcome.
The roundtables will be hosted by Senior DFAT officers and members of a taskforce that has been established within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to lead the review.
The roundtable will be from 11am until 12.30pm. You are most welcome to stay for a light lunch following the conclusion of the meeting.
