Get on-board Australia’s first ever Agrifood TrainHack and win $20,000!

Data, data everywhere: if data was water, Australian farmers would be laughing, with such a plentiful resource on their digital doorstep.  Our agricultural communities face an immense challenge.  How can Australian farmers unlock the power of data to manage the challenges of agriculture in a changing climate, and do more with less?

The two-day datahack will start on November 29 as the train pulls out of Sydney’s Central Station bound for Armidale, where the event will continue at University of New England’s SMART Farm.

On board: teams of students, start-ups, data scientists and future-looking farmers interrogating agricultural data sets including weather, production, environmental and consumer information.

At stake: a $20,000 prize pool, and hopefully the gem of an idea that will change Australian agriculture.

Event organisers, UNE SMART Region Incubator (SRI) and Food Agility CRC, are now looking for sponsors and participants.
